Are they still taking on guys, or have they started to slow the new guys coming on.......

 

They haven't slowed down from what ive seen.

 

They don't seem to be slowing down, and to make matters worse they are allowing dry van guys with no flat bed hauling experience to transition over. As if we don't have enough clueless guys running out there with other companies.

 

They've been doing that for years. No one had flatbed experience at one time.

 

They've been hiring guys with no flat experience for years. This isn't new.

 

Mercer just dont have the freight.. This weekend my cousin and I were comparing boards.. He has his own authority. In my area with Mercer there were only 4 loads in a 150 mile radius.. His board there were 480. That's very tragic to say the least. So maybe it's not bad as we think it is out here and it's just the umbrella we 're under. Needless to say I put my 2 weeks in today. It's been real but I didn't come this far to go backwards

 

I will say this much...I've been in this industry for 2 decades and i know it goes in cycles but this has been ridiculous...they haven't had frieght since last summer...everything has gone dead...this is unacceptable and frankly it's pathetic to say the least..

 

Thats the same exact thing I am seeing in my area

 

Ya'll be careful to get screenshots of loads before you commit. Second time in a month the rate has been cut when I'm on my way to the shipper.

First time I had the screenshots and it was fixed. "Clerical error", I was told. We'll see in a bit what happens this time, with no proof probably gonna get the blue shaft.
