    Trust me, don't go to military just to drive trucks. Swift is a better option, I wish I knew this when I was 21

    Every Marine is a rifleman, but not every Marine is an infantryman.

    Yep that's the one I served on for two years.
    Missouri is in Honolulu, Hawaii.
    Iowa is in Los Angeles, CA
    Wisconsin is in Norfork, VA
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    Navy wanted to put the Missouri in San Francisco, but the Mayor said that would be offensive and he wouldn't allow it. The Mayor of Oakland said that city would love to have it, but eventually decided that would be offensive also. The state of Hawaii was happy to have it there.
    What? 99% of our jobs give you janitorial training. Get one today!
    Did a tour with the CBs. Back then there was a waiting list to get in. Good people.
    But had to laugh when the reservists would come out for annual training. There would be 40 yr old BU1s that owned their own construction companies telling the officers to get out of the way.
    The reserve CBs were a great group.
    Hmm. Seem to remember something about the officers not being considered actual CBs.
    Mhphm, the only thing I learned in military was how to drink like a camel. And my, I got so good at it. Tours, what tours, I got on plane with bud light in a coffee cup and rest is history. 9 months later I woke up in my bed with the biggest headache in the world
    The Navy wanted to homeport the Missouri in San Francisco in @ 1987 but there was opposition from several fronts, mostly anti-military groups. The navy had the last laugh however as within 10 years there was virtually not naval presence left in the Bay Area. Thousands of good civilian jobs were lost as the Navy closed Alameda Naval Air Station, Mare Island Naval Shipyard, Treasure Island Naval Station and the Alameda Naval Aviation Depot. Also closed were the Oakland Naval Supply center, the Point Molate Fuel Depot and the Oakland Naval Hospital. A big economic hit to the area but they did say they didn't like the military presence there.
    I think Elon Musk wanted to develop the old Navy Base on Mare Island for his Tesla business, but so many demands and protests kept him away.
