Hello, my husband and I are desperate to get this thing going but have been getting a lot of different info that is really making it confusing, so I decided to turn to the pros here.
We live in Houston, TX and have a Ram 3500. We are planning on working with a 34' trailor.
What do we need to do to get started now?
Thank you in advance for your advice.

Maybe a hotshot company that's already established can help you lease on with them.
Try this one > click here > SAFELANE LOGISTICS LLC

Also, look at www.OOIDA.com which is a business website for the owner-operator. You can get lots of information there.

What is the reasoning behind the 34' trailer?

I remember you from years ago. Didn't you buy a new Volvo truck and hit the road? Seems like I remember you were doing pretty good at the time.

Yep, it was a used Volvo but that was me. My wife and I drove team for eight years, 6 1/2 of those years as O/O. We loved it and spent a lot of time visiting family and friends. We sold the truck a year ago to be home in Chattanooga with the Grandkids (and kids) and started a dispatching company. Life is pretty sweet.

I'm from Nashville area, but moved to Las Vegas/Henderson last year.
Best wishes on your dispatching business.

We heard that it would be better to haul pipe.
    Any thoughts?

So many hotshot loads require a 40' trailer. We have one 36' hotshot we work with and there are a lot of loads he cannot get.

    Bluedew and Bigbubba1 Thank this.
