I had one with coughing up blood once, I put him on hold and called 911, he was not amused when the cops and ambulance showed up.

First few times you get upset, after a while it just becomes another story.

Best was a pre-loaded trailer that was still sitting in the yard in the morning. And then the guy's cousin calls for a job and uses him as a reference.

My employers and I have nothing but good things in terms of start date or report somewhere across the USA to begin Orientation etc. I would not think of anything good from hiding from a job hiring situation. It's not something normal people do. Let's put it that way. Something is really wrong here.

One employer says I can show up and get that dump truck fueled and spray the box and make sure it works before going out to get stone or blacktop for the job. At any time in my life. I am approach a fork in the road where it will be me showing up on the farm and get all the meet and greets out of the way and to work.

Another employer, my last one OTR JBH which was a experimental time to see what is possible. And after I took out a car again with a cabover like I hoped wont happen, but it did. I decided to just resign. Because I was not doing well with all the accumulating medical stuff that will all be paid attention to in the last 21 years. They (JBH called me several times a year, you ready to get going? we have a nice conventional, Salary and so forth. Arkansas and west coast and return.

I would be a liar if I did say I was not tempted. It would have to be with a competing fleet to run McKesson Loads to Little Rock so that the west coast teams don't have to drive past to Memphis and back past here and going west on a 500 mile double back. They would come here and dump load or empty, grab the medicine loads and go west.

I think I was reading about where they are building a sort of a implant that replaces the lower spine without interfering with the motor nerves and sensation, feelings and so on in that part of the spine

If that was possible I can think into the future when it may be possible to get back out there and run that medicine OTR. There is a couple of other parts that will need replacing and so forth and if that is possible I begin to wonder if 1 million in life time caps for parts A and B would be sufficient to get approval for these surgeries.

    It's frightfully expensive.

Exactly right. He just irritated you for now. He could have really cost you money down the road somewhere.

It sounds like he was just looking for a job so he could get his ol' lady off his back. He never had any intention to work.

Anyone want to take bets that in 3 days he will call with a big sob story and how he was in the hospital and that’s why he didn’t return calls? Now he’s healthy and ready to work! LOL

Once plan A tells him they don’t want him.

Maybe I could say... Hey we have an abandoned truck over in columbus Ohio, here is the address and the keys are on the dip stick. I’ll reimburse your gas I just need this one big favor to prove yourself. Then when he gets there I won’t answer my phone. :D

It's called "ghosting" these days. Very popular with teenagers and 20 somethings. I think it started on the various hook-up sites.

Now more and more people do it in a matter-of-fact and nonchalant way.

Usually nothing personal. They're too cowardly to face a confrontation. Or they lack basic courtesy and manners.

When something doesn't pan out, I always always always send the other party an email or phone call to let them know.
