I used to know of a guy he would get tired of one shipper everyone overweight him his solutions was have a cat ticket same trailer previous load. Basicly he went to convience store less then 500 yards get coffee head back in. He saves all his tickets he's in a small carrier so simple.

Early in my trucking adventures I would stop in Jacksonville Fl. picking up Military household goods. I did not care to get because number 1 it did not pay anything, number 2 it was very hard to tarp. A lot of times finding things coming out of that area is difficult. I was leased on to someone at the time and I told him that my tarp was not big enough to cover the load but I would get a throw away at The Walmart which was close by after I got loaded he said he would let the broker know. Well got it on and put the tarp on which needed about 2 feet to cover completely. The forklift driver watched me tarp as I climbed up on top got everything as covered as I could, and as I was pulling out flagged me down and said “ you need to have it tarped all the way “ I said “ my guy was going to tell the broker I did not enough tarp but I was going over to the store to get a bigger one “ I added I just past Walmart it ain’t 2 minutes away. He responded with “ got to be tarped before you leave.” So I told him to “ take it off” he was like “what ? “ repeating “ I said take it off “ I had felt he had left me no choice but to take it off, how else was I going to get a bigger tarp other than to go get one. But his next response sent me over the top. “ i’ll take It off butt you don’t have to get all pissy with me “ WELL TAKE IT OFF NOW, DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT !!! I never went back there and I never spoke to a loader in that manner again and hope I never do.

Let me guess, Ecorse Michigan? I use to take my 10hr. Breaks in their staging lot before going into praxair (right behind them) . I talked to a bunch of skate boarders that said they were treated pretty bad there. The thing is, you probably aren’t really banned nationally, and six months from now could go back to that location, and no one would remember you.

With the way they run those steel mills there’s no way they could enforce a ban like this. Not saying you’d want to, but you could go back next week no problem.

It's funny but we all keep hearing about a driver shortage. The people complaining are the shippers and receivers who treat drivers like garbage. Nobody books their loads more than once and so now there's a shortage. Lol, it doesn't matter how many drivers are on the road. Those jerks will always have a shortage. What they require is constant newbie supply. Looking at you Pilgrim's Pride, C&S Miami, and OOOOHHH Colorado Boxed Beef !!! Choke on your driver shortage!

Kind of a different scenario but I had an old-timer tell me once to leave my tandems hanging off the scale a little on the scale out at a hundred-weight receiver. He said that the trick was to position it so that it didn't take tooo much off the ticket. Lol.

Once at a Ford plant,in early 90s, while working as a spotter, I hollered and cussed the Plant Manager right back. The Guy was in shock, The workers couldn’t believe it.Said he was a big shot # 3 Supervisor. I told them all, I was a Truckdriver, and would have another Job tomorrow if needed.
