I would like to know when did the trucking companies get their medical license? If your doctor says you don’t need a sleep study but a trucking company says you do ask for their medical diploma.

I'm not try to fight or anything I just don't like the idea of people being victims or claiming they are and then saying it all a scam. If someone is told by ME to get sleep test. You can go to any place you want for the test. Once you can prove you don't have it your good to go.

Drivers can even go find another ME if they believe the ME is scamming driver into sleep test. OOIDA has a list of ME that I guess don't ask about sleep apnea. It seem like driver don't want to believe they might have sleep apnea. I went for the sleep test just prove I did not have it. I figured I show them, I was surprised to find I had it.

I'm just saying don't be a victim tell people your success with a mouth guard if you have one. I can tell people how good CPAP is because it works for me. That's why I talk the numbers so people can understand how they test. I had no idea how they did it before. All I ever heard was Dr. John and Dave Nemo talk about it on satellite radio and all they would say was anyone and that had the test was put on CPAP. They never talk about the test or the numbers. They made it sound like a scam. People say it's a scam but they don't even know some basic stuff about sleep apnea.

The ME can only ask for a sleep test. You then go to a Sleep Doctor. You can pick anyone YOU want. They talk to you and look at you and you can still walk out anytime. If you think it's a scam. If someone goes to different ME and they keep getting told about sleep apnea it might be problem that needs to be looked at.

Their was no way a mouth gaurd would have solved my sleep apnea. I would rather have a CPAP then go thru surgery. Everyone is different that why talking about it is good, I think.

When and where did I say it was (ALL) a scam? Please enlighten me! I said it has an ugly underbelly.
Mouth Guards work just as good as CPAP for how they are used. As too the using another ME some drivers don't have that option. I will disengage now and wait for the many drivers that can recount the nightmares that crooked MEs has caused them, especially during an orientation!

Not true in all cases. This is how the Concentra here operates. One of our drivers just went through it. Their ME says although the sleep apnea screening is not required, THEY require it for you to be cleared. Then they give you the sleep test lab name that they will accept results from.
Like many have said, I'm sure there are many drivers that it helps. But don't try to tell me it's not a money grab.
FYI Concentra is owned by Humana. Easy trail to follow from there.

Also let's not forget this new Medical Examiner database. Once a ME puts a not qualified in there on you, it sticks. It is VERY hard to undo that crap, even for a 2nd ME! I know several drivers RIGHT NOW that are sitting at home because of this and that dang crooked ME in Hampton Virginia!

This is another problem. One of the drivers I spoke of can't get his sleep study done till late in July! Can't operate a CMV till then. This happened about 2 months ago and they are getting really behind on the bills.

That's bull ####, it's a ####ing racket. In that case I would go somewhere else that doesn't care that much about making you behind on bills.

So I started following the trail but now my head hurts.
Concentra is owned by Humama which was bought by Aetna. Then CVS bought Aetna.

There are many companies that just want a copy of the physical and even more hole in the wall places that conduct the physical in a few seconds and send you on your way. I only know this because I accidentally landed at one of these offices and typically my physicals in the past were very thorough and this other one took less than 5 minutes.
