For weight, they were a little over 27,000 each.

Question for you guys, I saw this guy weighing this Cat D8T today. Based on what I've seen on this thread I don't believe he's got anywhere enough securement. Does he? I know there's not enough there to make me comfortable hauling it. 20190606_083907.jpg These 2 chains are all that's on the back, nothing in between the tracks.

2 more chains on the front of the tracks and 2 on the attachment up front.

Landincoldfire, cke and Feedman Thank this.

So he probably didn't need all 4 trailer axles on the ground? I did notice that he raised the 4th axle on the tractor. Just didn't seem like enough chain to me. But I don't know what I'm talking about when it comes to heavy haul either.

D8 with single shank ripper and C-frame can be as heavy as 82000 lbs. But no not enough securment.

Probably not, just because you have them doesn’t mean you need them. If you’ve got them with you sometimes you use them. I’ve hauled light loads on 7 8 or even 9 because I had the trailer with me from another load. A buddy of mine sent me a picture of a K-Tec pull scraper that weighed less than 60,000 on 11 axles. It was a construction company and I’d guess they ran something heavy out and brought that back or visa versa. As far as the chains I’m not sure of the grade of chain, I’d guess not 100 but I didn’t bother to do the math. He’s probably a little light on securement.
