Actually my eyes are fine. I had my eyes checked back in Feburay.

I didn't mention this but there IS a stop sign at the top of the mountain.

I stopped. Popped it into 3rd. And slowly went down the hill.

I kept shifting until i got to 6th gear. 15 mph.

The posted speed limit on that mountain is 10 mph.

I was doing 15 mph and gaining on a truck doing 10. I could've hit the brakes harder, got down to 9 mph and popped her in 5th but im a noob and panicked a bit.

The sign was at the bottom. The cop was at the bottom. The cop pointed to the sign that was at the bottom.

I have a dash cam in my truck and rewatched the video when i got home. I didn't see any signs pertaining to stopping at the bottom until I got to the bottom.

I made an error that day and got a citation and paid it. Lesson learned. I was just wanting to see if anyone knew if this will show on my illinois mvr.

you have to be able to know how to down shift going down a hill, it can be done , whoever tells you never do it also needs to learn.

if your rolling hard stomp on the brake let up stomp hard again let up do it a third time hard and you should be able to get it in gear. ya need the Jake to assist ya. but ya should have been able to hit a lower gear at those speeds you mentioned.

Nothing wrong with downshifting on mountain. Ive done it many many many times. But i also know how to shift. If ur not experienced then dont try it u til ur very good at downshifting.. It only takes a couple seconds in neutral to gain to much road speed and at that point better say a prayer and pop ur spring breaks hope they can get ya stopped before u put it in the ditch... I have been on that highway in pa . speed limit 10 mph. Lets just say u were lucky to get a ticket and able to get er slowed down enough. U could have easily lost it out of gear and been hitting the bottom of that hill at 100mph plus thats if ur lucky

I’d like to know where this hill is.
    10 mph is pretty slow.

It's not so much a error, but a problem. Sorta. I learned not to regard the tickets. Who cares, pay it. And get on with your life. The real concern is that mountain. 6th in 15 too fast. (I think...) Maybe try low range 4th? and just let her roll easy down. I hope you follow where I am coming from with this thought.
