RoadCheck for CITY semi trucks? (Chicago)

Virginia is the worst when it comes to blitz’s. Especially the scale on us-13. The eye of a hurricane could be on top of the scale house and they’ll be out there with scuba diving gear and rain coats.

 

It was no blitz, but a tornado sure will not shut down the east bound I 40 scale in NM. One hit blew over two trucks in the parking lot and the window s out of the scale house and they still would not close that joint. lol

 

Freight was a little slow today. I didn't call in and hound them, but they called while ago and told me no load tonight,
I do not know what they are doing or where today though.

 

Today I didn't see anything
Ran from lansing, Illinois to Lansing Mi.
Back to Lemont Il. And back to the lansing yard, close to 500 mi.
Scales were closed there and back.
Did not any troopers out harassing anyone. Calm before the storm?

 

I ran from Indy to Atlanta today, and had a similar experience. I think you're right. Or maybe they're planning on some night time enforcement.

 

I 57 @ 330 mm. Scales both north and southbound were very busy with DOT
And from the looks they were picking on tankers, 4 on each side pulled around back along with a couple containers and a dryvan or 2.
I got the red light both times, But they ran me thru the bypass lane

 

Enforcing truck law is just like any other law and is not harassment etc.. Law is the price of civilization and is concerned with the allocation of responsibilities. So if you are responsible and legal their is no reason to be concerned with getting stopped for a inspection etc.
