Was that only to the vets staying or did everyone get the same treatment to be competitive? Heard they changed the pay structure.

The base pay is based on years with Magnum now. The performance a system went away. but for me they told me since I was already at the fifty cents a mile tier on performance pay they would just keep me there which is supposed to be reserved for drivers with Magnum for at least 5 years. So I think they were exceptionally fair about it.

Looking back, the performance pay was what drew me into Magnum in the first place. So had we been on this system when I was looking for a job then I probably wouldn't have come here in the first place. But now it benefits me more. That's not to say it's a bad system. it's just that as a new driver I liked that they gave me the opportunity to make some of the top pay in the industry by how much effort I put in. but with this current system the pay is still excellent for a brand new driver.

Yeah, I can see how that would be fair. Would royally suck to max out performance, then take a pay cut because of the new system. I honestly don't even know what is a good cpm for drivers these days. I know what I see advertised when I stare at the back of some of these trailers. Best believe there is some fine print to that.

Kind of a shame the performance pay is gone? Definitely an attractive offer to people with little experience.

I'm kind of interested to sit down one of these days and find out what my actual pay per mile is when all is considered such as free health insurance, 401k, etc. I've never really tried to figure out what that is. I imagine a company that doesn't have all the same benefits we have can pay a higher advertised cent per mile.

Does anyone know of a company that matches 100% of 6% for the 401K? Magnum matches 50%. I'm just curious if that even exists in our industry.

Still have pay by performance. Just modified.

Starting cpm is .46 cpm. There's .085 cpm in monthly bonus available on top of base, plus extra .05 cpm if hauling hazmat.

Top out at .595 cpm after 5 years, plus vacation , 401k, and free medical.

Of course, that'll be higher 5 years from now. And I might be a penny off, they keep throwing money at us.
