Don't know if this has been discussed, but read about the sell today. I can't vouch for Maverick as a company, but I can tell you their headquarters in North Little Rock, AR is VERY impressive. Really sharp looking place.

I remember when they got into the reefer business (it was around 2010 or so). I scratched my head then, thinking to myself, why? They're a really good flatbed / glass hauler. I mean, yeah, they're another b.s. mega (and all the b.s. and slow trucks that come with that), but they're not too bad as long as you remember they're another mega.

Anyway, I can't say I'm surprised they decided to get out of the reefer business. I was in that field for quite a while. It's definitely a dog eat dog world.

They are a good carrier. I talked with them a long time ago and that was how I discovered the Indiana Blacklisting in the flatbed area told to them by that employer by phone. The Lady explained in detail the situation. That gave me a feather in my cap for them to tell me things no one else would before.

I checked Indiana law and what that one did was legal. (As long it's not in writing ever)

Anyway, it's all ancient history and completely nothing on my records anywhere going back 20 years. If I tried to apply there I would be treated as a newbie until a road test proves it's not.

It is a quality employer here in Arkansas. Nothing but sharp in the trucks around these woods.

They're constantly trying to recruit me. I live about 40 miles from their headquarters.

We are neighbors more or less then.

Why not join them? If they are that interested in you it must be something good in your part of the woods.

I’m not sure how they got my info. I may have inquired when I started driving (7 years ago). I don’t remember.

I have very good day gig. If I were interested in OTR or regional, I’d take a look at them.

Actually, it’s not them I get emails from, it’s Melton. Hey, they both start with M. Lol

I don’t have any personal experience with Maverick or KLLM, but I’ve Maverick is decent. I can’t say I’ve much good about KLLM.

I wonder how many of the affected drivers will jump over to flatbed or glass, or just jump ship altogether?

The drivers were supposed to be offered a sign on bonus and a position at Kllm. No idea about how many stayed with Maverick but it's hard to imagine reefer drivers wanting to do flatbed or glass.

I wouldn’t. I tried flatbed briefly. No thanks!

My first gig in trucking was pulling flat bed. Can't say I enjoyed it and I was also about 100lbs lighter. Nothing but respect for someone who can do that work.

I get tired and sore just looking at all the equipment needed for that job. My gloves and tire thumper is all I can handle these days.
