Swift pulling a Werner box

At least those bodies are out there working and making a name for themselves. And not annoying me at every truck stop and every god #### light with their stupid ####ing sign.

The crazy thing I see is, Werner is pulling Ashley furniture trailers. Company that good cant find qualified drivers, I just dont get it.

 

Many moons ago when I drove from Steven's I'd ask for more money to pull someone elses trailer and would usually get it. The way it was explained to me, at least in the buzzard truck case, was that basically the trucking company had already bought the load (for say $100k) with expectations of delivering and getting reimbursed. They failed to get the load covered, so Steven's bought it at a discounted rate (say $70k) so they are going to make a killing on that one load and are willing to give up money for it.

That being said, it seems more likely to me now that I have way more experience that it's just contracted freight that they didnt get covered, so 1 company pays another twice the rate to move it and not hurt their contract numbers, thus affecting their score for future contract negotiations. In my case, since Steven's was getting say $2/mile above market to move the load and help Prime out, they were willing to bump me an extra say $0.30/mile or whatever the numbers were.

 

Or they stopped looking for qualified drivers, because ####head Werner underbid to get their foot in the door.
