You guys have non cdl trucks? Must use them at the bigger terminals. Are they same size straights just under 26,001?

Even smaller box trucks. Also "E-vans" (Sprinters) at places like Indy. We don't have any of those in Columbus.

Hmm. Interesting. Don’t think I’ve ever seen trucking companies use those kind of things before. That explains the pro master I saw pull into the gate the other day. Not ours, probably hiring a courier or something. I thought I heard my terminal manager saying something about us getting some other type of truck. Must have been what he was talking about. Do they just put people in them part time to help with the overflow or something?

Did he say "bruck" truck? If so, those are the non-CDL ones. They can be used as another way to transition dock-to-driver guys into P&D roles as they study and train for the CDL tests. I have only seen the Sprinters in Indy though. They might be more of an experimental thing, I'm not sure.

I don’t recall what he called them. I only partially heard him as I had headphones on watching videos.....hours and hours of videos......and still have plenty to go. :biggrin_2552:

Man, I'm reading what you guys go through at Dayton.

And I feel blessed that I'm still paper all the way. No scanners at all.

I was wondering if most of the small truck\Sprinter work, is Residential?

My boss is looking for a smaller truck, think ReddyRents or U-Haul size. For our increasing amount of Residential work. Versus handing all that work to those of us in Semis and large straight trucks.

Dependent on freight size and weight of course.

I’m sure the scanners make it a lot easier once you get it down. I do a lot of nursing homes and apartment complexes in the straight truck.

misterG and Bob Dobalina Thank this.

Typically, our B trucks are 24-26’, with the C trucks being 22’.
