We’ve already lost so much of our privacy and freedoms all in name of safety. If we don’t say “enough is enough” they will keep taking more and more a little bit at a time until there is nothing left. I can imagine them coming out with a study saying people that get angry get in more accidents and will require that all commercial vehicle drivers wear a device that measures heart rate and those who get elevated heart rate too often will get fired. How about your butt hurts too much from sitting in one place for 11 hours and the truck detects excessive butt movement which also has been linked to more accidents and you get canned for distracted driving? What if the truck decides that you pick your nose too often? That’s only one hand on the wheel! The list goes and on.

Not only them...at SAIA they just removed the visor lmao!!

  4. doesn't matter what you say anymore professionals are no longer needed..
it's not about quality it's about quantity..what's the feds were able to get that he logged the stick for over a year that's their industry now they'll do whatever they want.. within the next five years you can look forward to speed limiters dash cameras for insurance purposes or else you don't get insured and probably a few other fun things they will think up.. as long as the runner Foreigner program keeps going and it will the last bust out there in New York where they were feeding them the answers with another connection down in Florida. A Russian ring no surprise who was a friend of the Russians???! Yup good old president Tweety.
so what ended up happening well there was a Russian ring in New York and they were taking illegal CDLs money sending them down to Florida where another part of the Ring had sophisticated spy equipment and they would literally feed them the answers and you didn't even know what it was like a informant wearing a wire... but here is the most startling part.. AFTER THE RUSSIAN CDL RING WAS BUSTED THEY HAD TO PAY A MASSIVE FINE!!! ALLOW ME TO REITERATE ONE MORE TIME!!!
"THEY HAD TO PAY A MASSIVE FINE!!"
    NO PROSECUTION WHATSOEVER
because they're keeping a driver shortage away and that's all the feds want.
think about that for a while as you think about whether you want to stay in an industry where you will have a camera pretty soon or you will not be insured and you'll have no choice you will have speed limiters and much more..

  5. there's an easy way to take care of that crash into a car while the cameras recording and say I got blind and I couldn't see what I was doing they took my visor away that's a safety violation.
and then you put it on YouTube and then you get a lawyer

I cover the front facing camera at all times. And i pick and choose when i want the road facing camera to be open.i cover and uncover the camera so much they dont even bother saying anything. I also ignore the qualcoms asking if something is over my camera. Sorry but your not gonna watch me tickle my balls in the bunk.

So your easy way would be crash into a car??? Dude whatever you're smoking...please stop!!!!! Lmfao

  8. not smoking anything SIR!
only suggesting stupid ideas as many like to put in nonsense for comments here more than once.
and no I don't mean kill or maim somebody doofus a nice little bump of a car wouldn't mind at all in a parking lot I got blinded by the Sun what am I supposed to do I don't have a visor the company removed it. simple solution but you don't see that you think of killing, maiming somebody? asking me what am I on? I mean seriously..
frankly I could give a ## less about cameras. but for 29 and a half years I learned how to roll with the changes had to start that back in 2004 with the first hours of service change. if they put them in so be it I'm not worried about it I don't drive like a fool I don't text and drive and do things I shouldn't. so that's the way the CSA idiots have caused the industry to go down the toilet then so be it.. start the camera at whatever. play professional drivers from the old school have an ability to adapt. because back in the day we were taught safety professionalism and courtesy; we know how to use our mirrors we know how to scan gauges stuff they don't teach these CSA Wonder Boys anymore..

I dont have a driver facing camera... But the company installed outward facing cameras. It works with our tablets and tells you when and what it went off for... We can review the footage of events on our tablets, amd challenge them if we want. I challenge them ALL. All our event footage goes directly to our safety manager, so I just go down the list and hit the challange button... Lol.

You can bet a bag of biscuits that the FMCSA has discussed driver and forward facing camera mandates. We know they have discussed radar/adaptive cruise control mandates. They have also discussed speed limiter mandates. And just because they havent yet moved forward with any of those ideas does not mean they wont or that they dont intend to in the future. Anyone who thinks they wouldn't mandate it if they could needs to look around. I heard many people in past years exclaim that "there will never be an e-log mandate. You are just paranoid". Look where we are. Government does what government does. And that is move on to the next great idea to force us to accept. It just remains to be seen what that next great idea will be. You can certainly bet that there will be one.
