Yesterday I was approaching an on ramp behind two sets of triples, there was a double left turn to get on the freeway. Two big E trucks. For some reason one them decided to take the inside turn lane. Remember, this guy had a set of triples behind him. They drag raced up the on ramp and jacked up traffic because neither one of them could figure out how to make to two trucks occupy the same space at the same time. I say bring on the self driving trucks.

Well IDK, I picked up a 14 year old illegal at the boarder really cheap. He drives and I nap. If he gets stopped Ill claim he stole it and Im a deep sleeper. Kinda self driving and better than a programmer that don't have to drug test.

I'm really wondering if self driving trucks will be cheaper than the engineers you'll need to keep them running. Imagine also, a software update comes out and just wrecks the self driving capability, you're either going to want some drivers to keep those trucks going, or all your trucks are going to be down for however long it takes to fix it, as I'm willing to be all the self-driving technologies are going to be licensed, rather than sold, to companies that use them.

Actually Liability is a issue. The trucking companies want to relieve themself of this and for the programmers to take this on would skyrocket the price. You can see where this could be a hicup no one is ready for even if the tech is fine tuned.

Yeah, I think there will always be someone in the vehicle, for the forseeable future. The pay might be crap, because they won't even really qualify as steering wheel holders by this point. They'll probably still have to preform pretrips and post trips and all that though.

Ummm what's wrong with drag racing. I watch Street Outlaws all the time and love it.

What fun would it really be watching self driving street racers? The last race I saw was C.R. England beat J.R. Schugle goin up Pikes Peak. Helluva race that day
