    Ok I realize that he had hot brakes. But paper loads dont explode. For that matter we can see the paper with the outsides having been charred still there. So what did explode?

    I hauled some paper rolls today. Mine did not explode. But the juice boxes I have on now......I’m not so sure.

    This is just a guess but possibly some spilled diesel fuel while he was refueling or leftover residue on the ground from previous spills. Also the hot exhaust may have caused a flash fire(wonder if the truck was running while being refueled).
    Like I said, this is all just a guess as the heat damage is (not surprisingly) focused on the tractor(what’s left of it).
    Just had another thought. If his brakes caught on fire It’s possible that fire may have spread to certain areas in the engine compartment, especially if it was his steer brakes that lit up first.The fire may have spread to other components in the engine compartment, like the power steering, or the fuel rail.

    Maybe I am just a dumb old man, but something doesn't "jive" about this. Only thing that does "jive", the trucking company insurance rates are going thru the roof.
