Will be moving to Indiana in a few months and wondering about driving schools and job placement.

Is there anything out there that can get new drivers home daily or at least every other day ?

I just took my CDL test yesterday and passed without any problems, although if I'd have had any less training I would have probably failed the first try. The training was just enough for me to get to a level where I didn't have a problem, however I was plenty nervous and doubted my ability to pass. Without attending other schools, I think SAGE has a pretty decent program. I attended the Indy school, but had a couple of the Muncie instructors come down for days two days at the very end to conduct skills and road training. If I did it all over again, I probably would check out Muncie first. I struggled with backing, but just two hours with Ron from Muncie and the light finally came on. If he wouldn't have worked with me, I don't think I would have passed. The Indy instructor's method of backing wouldn't have worked for me at testing. I'm so glad I had Ron from Muncie work with me. I learned more from him in 4 hours of backing skills training than the instructor at Indy in 12 hours. I didn't see the Indy instructor after the test, so I wasn't able to talk to him about my experiences with the two methods. Oh well, I learned enough to pass comfortably, so that's all that matters.

I didn't address job placement. If you pass you shouldn't have any problem finding any type of driving job. Recruiters will come in to visit, so you'll get a good feel of the different opportunities. There are good paying local companies and opportunities.

A Driver is responsible for loading galley equipment onto a truck, driving the truck to various types of aircraft and loading the equipment. All activities must be accomplished according to customer guidelines and while adhering to safety regulations. The Driver interacts with the airline representatives at the aircraft, therefore must be customer service oriented.

No need to push the envelop and ruin a good retirement. If you still want to work, do a drop & hook with Old Dominion or haul mail with Sodrel.

I talked with Sodrel, the only bad thing there is that they are 1 hour away so I would spend 2 hours driving to work and back and then maybe 10 or 11 hours driving. How many hours can you drive in a day ? I thought 10 but I thought someone posted 11, did something change in the last 2 years ?
Also I would need to pay for their school at their site which is $5K for 5 weeks which may be okay.
And I think that maybe they work 6 days :( I have worked 4 , 10 hour days for the last 14 years and like those 3 days a week off haha
I may give them a call again and get more info. I think late 90's Mack's with 6 speeds.

Old Dominion hires new cdl school grads from approved schools. Probably make a lot more money there with a line haul/drop & hook run. A few new cdl school grads went to Old Dominion in Indy.

I have always heard good things about them. Just got off the phone with recruiter from Sodrel and their school is on their location and $4797 and last for 5 weeks. SDIA Safe drivers institute of America and Sodrel can only hire you if you go to that school.
