I can't believe I missed this post. Good luck @ethos . I managed to get out of trucking for 7 years, but somehow I fell back into it. You never really leave it, you just stop physically doing it.

Thanks Ethos. Did you make significantly more with Superior? I started with Schneider today and not really impressed. They seems to not really care much for drivers. It seems to be like a conveyer belt of drivers.

This post is inspiring on so many levels. I'm hoping to get hired on at the Pasadena terminal. I'm fresh out of school. Only issue is the distance from where I live. Hopefully it can be worked out.

Well I'm not a loser or a moron have drove 42 years over 5 million miles with pride and a job well done. Supported my family with a good living and so have many other men and women so don't you ever put us down for doing so. We work hard with little thank you's and then some one like your self is putting us down for driving a truck. Really? Every body has a job weather it working at a dinner to feed you or the car wash kids don't put people down for the job they do. They are only trying to make a living and feed there family name calling has no usefulness and you really need to stop it. If some one want's to be a truck driver there nothing wrong with that it their choice

    Bud A. Thanks this.

You misunderstood me there, I completely agree with you. I dont remember my dad ever doing anything but driving truck and same for grandfather on my mothers side, he literally drove truck till the day he died.
