We dont have government healthcare, you do not pay to fix people unless there is no insurance involved, which by the way they write a lot of off if you pay for stuff like broken arms out of pocket. Hell they'll cut a good chunk of the doctors bills off even if they know it will be coming out of insurance.

Or it's a good case to have more influence on when it's "your time to go" by wearing a seat belt which is much likelier to be later rather than sooner by wearing one. This is supported by statistical evidence versus your anecdotal evidence.

Quoted from the linked article below: "Of the 37,133 people killed in motor vehicle crashes in 2017, 47% were not wearing seat belts. In 2017 alone, seat belts saved an estimated 14,955 lives and could have saved an additional 2,549 people if they had been wearing seat belts."

I’d be cool with that, except that not everyone dies. Those that make it out alive now are a burden on society. It’s selfish and unfair to not wear your seatbelt, and some may say—stupid.

I was in a fatal motor vehicle accident. I was spared any serious injury (the only one of six occupants in two vehicles) because of seatbelt use.

I also participated in motorsports of several varieties on both two and four wheels and have written off several vehicles and have yet to be injured in any manner. You can guess my vote.

It’s strange how I posted a comment similar to yours. Hahaha.

I am saddened that this even needs to be argued. And it’s usually the same people I’d expect to be engaging in this type of (suicidal) behavior. I suppose we all do stupid things and are not aware of them.

Im alive today, because at age 16 I was thrown 30ft from a car that went airborne at over 100 mph and landed on its roof with less than 2" between the door and roof(67 Camaro),luck of the draw or divine intervention, it's funny how everything goes in slow motion during a wreck.

A very common thing that happens when people aren't wearing seatbelts is they are found pinned underneath their own vehicles. You get ejected, but guess what? Your vehicle and whatever you hit is following right after you.
