My wife is getting ready to graduate from CDL training school and she is looking to get a job driving local. We paid for her training.... so she is not obligated to work for any company. We have discussed doing OTR, but I told her the only way that would happen is if I go with her. I think we are going to look into team driving. I'm a fleet Mechanic with a class B license... so I would go to school for my Class A. I have been a mechanic for 34 years and I make decent money 57k a year before taxes. I'm bored with what I do and need a change... I would also like to make some serious money for the next 15 years and retire. We would want to take are dogs ... we have 2 very little dogs and a golden retriever ( don't know if that's a possibility) I realise there's training before we could drive together. I was just interested in getting some feedback on this idea and if there's any companies you all could recommend. We live in Denver
Thanks in advance.

@Chinatown will be around directly to assist. Maybe it’s me, but his word is gospel in such matters.
Chinatown Thanks this. -
R&l, fedex , estes, etc .. They all pay real good for team freight. I would stay away from megas and look for linehaul stuff because u will always have freight to keep u moving
Chinatown Thanks this. -
Both having your CDL and willing to team is what all companies are looking for. Places like Schneider are offering $20k sign on bonuses for team drivers. Good luck on your search
rabbiporkchop, Chinatown, Blues Junkie and 1 other person Thank this. -
That's a good plan; team with wife and take the two pets along.
Since you will both be new drivers, look at Celadon. Can team and legally take two pets with you.
Click here > Home | Drive Celadon
This company hires new cdl school grads. There's a page on the website concerning teams.

After 6 - 12 mos. with Celadon, you'll have the experience to move on to something else if you want.

@D.Tibbitt mentioned some line haul companies and they pay really well.
R&L Carriers is one, and requires 12 mos. experience.

Only problem is we have 3 dogs... 2 little dogs 12lbs and 1 golden retriever... don't know if that would be ok.
