That's a connector, take a picture of where the wires from that connector lead to.

There is pigtail on it ...plugs in the loom next to cam position sensor
-
Boost sensor.
Goodysnap and frito bandito Thank this. -

What do you mean it never worked? If that is indeed the boost sensor it has to work in order to determine the fuel output. Most boost sensors have a metal elbow separate from the sensor that brings them out and away from the head a bit.
-
It looks like it has that elbow ...i just dont remember it was ever working if you mean turbo boost ... didn't pay attention to fuel pressure .. doubt its related . Can you pls explain ..im not mechanic but if its something simple i try to take care myself
I had issues starting truck after shutting down and try to start after 20-30-40min after loading ...maybe from 5-8th time ...rpm gauge goes crazy when turn ignition on . One of the mechanic mentioned this sensor . I started truck today normally , 5 min later did shut down , started again from 2nd attempt , replaced sensor ...tried another 5-7 times with different combinations , so far so good -
Just zip tie it so it doesn't come un plugged. Get a new connector, whichever side you broke and the correct pick to remove the pins.
-
More than likely you would have a gauge reading from that sensor. Just your ecm would get the info and adjust the fuel delivery that reflected what boost was going on in your engine at the time. That sensor is very important to the engine and will have no power under a load.

Not have a gauge reading sorry I mistyped that one
