WALLINGFORD, Conn. (WTNH) - A crash involving a jackknifed tanker truck has closed part of Interstate 91 southbound in Wallingford on Tuesday.

The Department of Transportation says that two left lanes are shut down on I-91 southbound between exits 17 and 14 due to a truck accident that was reported at 12:15 p.m.

According to the DOT, traffic is congested for about 3.6 miles on the southbound side. There is also a 3 mile delay on the northbound side on that part of the highway.

Emergency crews responded to the scene but there is no word on any injuries at this time.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation. upload_2019-6-18_14-50-30.jpeg Jackknifed tanker truck closes part of I-91 southbound in Wallingford
