My hotshot business is registered in Louisiana, I purchased my truck in Louisiana but it is financed with a bank in Mississippi and there is a lien on my title. Does this mean I cannot receive my apportioned plates in Louisiana? Thanks

No, two different and separate things.

Irp will require you to prove you are legal to driver interstate, a contract or your own authority,

If you purchased the vehicle, then you determine where the title is. If you are leasing, then the bank may determine where the title is, because you don't own it.

As far as I know, only New Jersey requires the title to be in state.

Sounds about right...I'm waiting for Gov. Murphy to revisit his mentor's desire to tax Class 8 vehicles.

Took over a year to convince a prior administration to stop trying to fix NJ's money woes taxing Interstate Commerce and it wasn't pretty....
