NOT TRUE! The State of Washington passed a law saying that any employee not paid hourly or on salary must receive a paid 10-minute break every 4 hours. All the carriers in Washington cut 5-figure checks to their drivers for back pay for the unpaid breaks then moved to hourly pay!

I get paid to fuel the truck. If I show up for work and my trailer isn't ready I get paid to wait. Funny thing is my employer now cares a lot more about wasting my time or having me do silly stuff. It's weird - almost like they just want me to focus on driving the truck! No one went broke, blind or deaf because of this. Come on in - the water's fine!

Some places like Electronic Logs, hourly pay, and running day cabs so the drivers stop and check into a motel. Showers, a real bed, television, gets them out of the truck.

No it wouldn't. Compensation is meaningless. What would truly eliminate this is proper training behind the wheel. It's too many people who are reckless behind the wheel for no reason.

I agree. To me, it dont make a difference whether its paper or electronic. Many drivers have bad habits and dont really know how to plan, or are too set in their ways. Elogs really exposes bad work habits, or deficiencies in a lot of drivers. I personally like elogs. Touch the screen, change status and and driving doesnt even require a touch of the screen.....very nice.

    Yeah,Nice,Easy and all

Wait until that ELog, Inconveniences you- Or keeps you from the most important thing in life...Family.

Wait till your behind an hour or 2 and have to reschedule your delivery and lose a days pay.

wait till that E-Log puts you in a truckstop 1 hour from home.

Wait until that E-log prevents you from unloading early- And when you get there...You have 13 trucks in front of you cause got there at 9am instead of 630am...

Don't say it wont happen to you.
