That’s awesome man. I’ve been trying to figure a way into a feeder job for a bit now. I just don’t know if I can hack going through that step progression.

All depends on location and timing and what your finances look like. I’ve heard the stories from those with more time in about it being rough in slow periods. To the contrary i keep hearing how ‘good of a time’ i came in at. Supposed to be movement on the board and they opted to hire in someone after me. Also with the hourly progression bump starting out in the new contract it helps somewhat.

Yeah that’s what I’m thinking about because I have a family. But I don’t see any feeder positions in my area

The progression is better now. But I'm sure it'll still be somewhat rough...depending on the hub.

Some hubs put you on run right away and do not have on call drivers. Some have on call drivers and run a hog board. And some have a four hour window where you will get your call.

It varies greatly on the hub.

Progression to top rate was 18 months for me if I remember correctly. It just keeps getting longer and longer. Still not bad considering a lot of electricians and what not have like a ten year progression.

Yeah I don’t mind the profession for a while. I’m just trying to get my foot in the door at this point

Sometimes you gotta move to get this type of a job. You got to realize it’s a non college educated position that pays tremendously well. Better then collage educated people. These won’t open up all over. I know if I still lived where I was at in Cali even with my experience I wouldn’t have a shot at feeder. You got to do it the traditional way part time dock in Cali unless they open up a new terminal like I heard near Stockton acouple years ago.
That took 20 years for that to happen and everyone and their mom jumped on it.

Now here in Denver I’ve had a shot at this position and they are hiring like crazy here for now. My app is still active also and I can schedule a interview if I want. I did last week and changed my mind again. Had a interview setup and cancelled. I can’t believe it’s still active but I’m sure they’ll get mad about it and deactivate it.
    Lol.
