Hi guys my friend has a Detroit 60 12.7 his oil pressure at idle is 20psi and down the road with the trailer not yet with a load is 50 psi going down thr road his Oil pressure, coolant and rpms gauges sometimes work and sometimes do not but when they are indeed working the oil pressure shows that is it really low for that engine the motor runs good it sounds good as well I no black or white smoke from exhaust any ideas

That oil pressure is normal with a high mile engine.
When engine is fresh it's about 70 psi running on road.
When oil is 40 psi driving engine is getting tired. When you start eating one gallon oil every 500 miles it's time for an inframe.
Do not idle while parked less than 900 rpm.
Do not use Lucas. If you want thicker oil put one gallon gear lube 80/90 in with oil change.

I used Lucas already but on the next oil change I will add gear oil instead

For a series 60 that's not low. Its perfectly normal.

Now if that was a cat it would be a bit low.
