As a truck driver (ret.) I enjoy your sarcasm, but I don't think heroin and cocaine will ever be legal.

You know that more than half of Orygun is from California right. Weed is only a small part of the problem. The Beaver state has had crap drivers for years. Pretty much like everywhere else. I could go on about how the libs are ruining or state....

The first time I ever went through Portland in a big truck was '05. Was almost killed by several Fed Ex drivers with the " Award winning drivers " stickers on the trailer.

I said right then, no big city got nothing on this place.

5 is the worst. 84 isn't nearly as bad, and when you get off 5 or out of Portland it isn't near as bad. But 5 is terrible. Eugene is rough too. They're just in their own little world.

Now this last winter, during some of those huge storms, I think that just freaked some people out.

This old lady with like 5 dogs in the car stops at the top of a hill, and lets all the dogs out. I'm going " Why me Jesus." I mean it's snowing like you can't believe. Dogs are running all over. All traffic has to stop.

    It's just Oregon man.

But on the bright side, Colorado just legalized psilocybin. Now we can get brake checked for hallucinations.

Bear in mind a lot of drivers in Oregon are from California. And so, like California's drivers, Oregon's drivers have become an obnoxious amalgamation of the good, the bad, and the ugly.

    Here's the breakdown:

Honda drivers are obnoxious 20 and 30 somethings from California who overuse the word 'epic'. Likely to be high.

Subaru drivers are outdoorsy liberals who drive at the speed limit or below. I usually don't have a problem with them.

Prius drivers are mostly indoor-loving liberals who fear wide open spaces, tractor trailers, oversized pickups, and anyone attempting to pass them. Their self righteous attitude carries over behind the wheel.

Drivers of oversized pickup trucks tend be afflicted with a Napoleon complex and drive accordingly. "If you don't rate, just overcompensate." The macho 20 to 30 something cowboy from Texas are the most egregious examples. They call it "rolling coal", but I call them something that rhymes with coal. The mature rancher, farmer, or handyman who drive large pickups are ok, though.

Workvans: guys who work with pipes tend to be a bit aggressive on the road. I don't know about pipe fitters, but plumbers and septic system guys don't like being turd herders or others on the road.

RV's: as a general rule I despise how those in RV's, particularly retired old men, who refuse to learn what cruise control is. They speed up, then slow down. Drivers of the larger motor homes tend to be the serial offenders. Relief comes when I see the license plate is from Indiana, then I know it's a hotshot driver.

Old VW vans: yes, I mean those hippie vans from the late 1960s. Thank God there are so few of these on the road. A bumper sticker from one read: Never get behind a VW bus. Anyone here ever see a more underpowered vehicle on the road?

Mercedes Benz: There are two types of drivers behind the wheel of this luxury car: the ones who drive like the law doesn't apply to them and take chances, and those who don't take any chances doing damage to their overpriced auto.

Toyotas: Mostly Camry's and Sienna vans out there. No notable negative recollections.

Acura: a driver of this overpriced Honda is pretty careful as I have seen.

Lexus: same as above. My mom owns one and I drive it sometimes. Nice suv to drive. Gets up and goes when you want it to.

Dodge Challenger: drivers of this fine muscle car usually play nice. I rented one in 2012 and had a very difficult time keeping near the speed limit. Got it up to 120 and she was still smooth. Drivers of Camaros and Mustangs also usually play nice.

Hotshots: I call them mini truckers. Never had an issue with one.

School buses: usually never a problem. They don't take chances and won't speed or remain an impediment to traffic flow.

Cattle haulers: fastest and stinkiest trucks on the road. It's the smell that keeps them moo-ving. Most have company names on the trailer. The funniest ones I've read so far are Cow Condo and Hamburger Helper.

Smart cars: drivers of this clown car drive as if they are afraid of their own shadow, and for good reason.

Saturn: fortunately, not many owners of this car brand subjected their vehicles to regular maintenance and so sightings of this car are slightly more common than seeing a hillbilly at the dentist's office.

    I've got to hit it.

I read a poll that asked folks what brand of drivers are the biggest jerks on the road. The #1 jerks were drivers of BMW's. #2 surprised me. It was Prius drivers. Beyond that I can't remember the rest of the top 10.
