Well after a long search and picking a few brains on here I have decided to call Quality Carriers home.

Went for my Physical, drug screen and road test today. I will be going to Salisbury NC for my Oreiantation and tanker training on Monday. I will be driving a company truck but was offered a chance to drive for a Fleet owner. After carefull consideration and talking to both I decided the company job was my best fit. I really wanna thank RickG for all the time he spent answering questions for me concerning them. So Thank You RickG :biggrin_25514:.

I will update this post as I go and relate my experiance as I get the chance. I dont have a laptop so I will be doing it as I come in. I think that will be best too.....No laptop = no distraction and I can concentrate on learning what I dont know.

I can say that all the folk's I have came in contact with have been straight up with me and if they did not know the answer to a question they would find someone who did.

I also wanna thank all the other people on this site that have answered questions about other companies for me. Well all for now, will post more as I learn more.

We have a lot of QC drivers that come in to the terminal and load. I can't speak for the O/O's but the majority of the company drivers are happy. As someone else stated, each terminal seems to be operated individually.

I guess each terminal has a different number. The drivers I talk to get paid by the hour (no overtime, which is wrong) and the company pays for their medical (family too) and have some type of retirement plan.

Like I said, they seem to be happy. Good luck on your adventure and keep the rest of us updated.

    Drive safe

Glad to help . Quality has policies drivers from other carriers would have a hard time adjusting to . They monitor logs closely and you'd better be 100% legal . If you're going to be late , notify them . Falsify a log to keep an appointment or make it home when you're out of hours and you're history . They really cracked down on this lately when they got better auditing software . That's one reason they have job openings . They replaced the Qualcomms with Blackberries and the GPS is pinged every 15 minutes when you have an active order .

I always thought they were strictly OO's. It's a losing cause to try to beat the HOS. Any company that uses GPS will now audit their logs against the GPS. FMCSA decided that back in December.

Do they have teams? Do they have layover pay? I work for Enterprise and they had a $50 every 12 hr layover---now its for 24 hrs-and 50 for every 12 after that.

They have over 100 terminals and many are owned by affiliates . Affiliates set their own pay and benefits so I couldn't tell you all the different rates . QC now requires all applications to be made online , even to affiliates . Affiliates hate that because corporate gets first pick at good applicants like hicksie . Corporate pays by the mile . I work for an affiliate on percentage but am guaranteed $.40 per mile for every mile including bobtail and deadhead . Many loads are regional dedicated so there isn't much need for teams . They pay layovers but I haven't seen many . I get $100 for a layover which often isn't much more than my 10 hour break and always less than 24 hours .

I am thinking I to am going to be working for an affiliate also, RickG. Recruiter told me company but as I am learning the terminal is owned by a guy in Kentucky and he owns a Terminal there and a couple of more if I am not mistaken.

I will know more by the end of the week as I am just in the infant steps of all this with them. But as you stated I will be own a percentage bases, But it is a better deal then what the fleet owner was able to offer me. Like i stated earlier I have my road test which I did at terminal due to fact Corporate charged terminal to do if I did it in Salisbury the week of orientation. The terminal trucks are Pete 379's. They do food grade and Chemical out there. Have trailers for both at the terminal.

This will be my last post till I get home from training and orientation. I am looking for a laptop to take with me but it will be a little bit before I get it.
So for now peace and thanks to all.
