    So I take it that I have to pay the taxes at the end of the year-What about S.S.and unemployment do I pay that to?
    Is it common for Panther to pay an advance? I don't think I would need one,I have some money to get by on,but I'm wondering how long does it take to get paid-a week, a month?
    Do I sign some kind of a contract with the fleet owner?

    You get a 1099. Panther gives no advances. It depends on how you and your owner set things up is how you get paid. Yes there are contracts

    A contract is a very wise thing to do so the fleet owner doesn't make changes after you start . Get everything in writing . Most fleet owners are good to work with but there have been some shady ones .

    So will it look funny to ask a fleet owner for a contract?Should I get it in writing about --How much per mile? What about the fuel surcharge do I need to get that in writing also?And what if I break down on the road do I pay for the repair myself and have him give it back to me later?That repair part I 'm not O.K. with.

    All owners have contracts. The company pay you FSC if you are the one paying for the fuel. It depends each load pays different. Same with miles each load might pay different. Usually the owner of the truck pays for all repairs. I know ours does he is great about it

    Thanks for the info. You say FSC---is that like a debit card? Does the Co.give you that when you start driving for them?

    FSC = Fuel Sur Charge
    Its an amount paid to compensate the person buying the fuel over and above a set price in the contract based on a certain miles per gallon
    It will very depending on the price of diesel

    I am not really sure what the numbers are for a expedite truck
    The numbers here are for semi
    Also the base price is now $1.25 to $1.50 not $1.15, but gives you a good idea on how it works

    Rocks Thanks this.
