JLG makes them for a couple companies. Cat used to make their own which were my favorite because with the boom in the saddle you could see over it.

It looks bad, but as long as he's not overloading that single axle he's fine.
Heck, I use to have a 53' van that basically was the same way. It was automatic based on weight. Empty it would pick up the front axle and with weight it would drop it.

Sadly I have one of my own like that. Drove? straight road, no honking or pointing. Turned into my driveway and noticed it.

No pics but would like to submit a stepdeck driver to the halll of shame that was on I-30 in Texas around X87 Caddo Mills about 2am.

Stepdeck passed me while I was going 70 like I was standing still. First half of his trailer was small wooden crates. Second half was 5-6 tarps on the very tail.

The strap was flapping and the center most tarp roll was half off the edge. I couldn’t get a hold of the driver and I wasn’t about to go 85 to catch him. Sure enough I see it fall off into a spectacular tumble. I was easily able to dodge the red tarp.

5-10 minutes go by and all of a sudden I see a huge black tarp roll. Seems big as my 8 footers. I swerve left to avoid it but there was a truck passing me and I caught it on my passenger side. If it wasn’t black and not 2am I think it would have been seen early enough to avoid.

Can’t say for certain, but it felt like the right side went airborne. Everything blew out of my cubbies, even my fridge opened up blowing the contents out. I pull over and assess my beautiful w9. Bumper dented in about an inch or two, ripped my mud flap off my hood behind my steer tire, and obliterated my lower passenger step. Will edit with pics when daylight comes.

    Bad night.

He’ll probably also claim someone stole his tarps.

Wow. You cant see it that good but the second strap is starting to tear because its rubbing on that beam. No belly's. No edge protection at all on the entire load. Old fella too. 20190702_075830.jpg
