Hey guys!
I m back. I have an international prostar with a cummins isx motor and it has been acting wierd with the regens all of a sudden. Just recently it started regening whenever i pulled a heavy load but now it would regen the way it should like a passive regen and after like 200-300 miles it would regen again but with no performance issues. Like my fuel mileage wont drop or anything but i could hear the way it would drive so i could tell that its regening. I have googled alot and asked alot of shops and they say its pretty normal and stuff. What do any of you guys think? The engine just got 300000 miles on it and its 2015 isx.
Please any guidance would help.
Thanks

Have you ever had the filter put in an oven? They're supposed to be baked (or whatever they do to them) every so often or they clog and continuously want to regen.

Have you tried a manual regen to burn the soot out. That is what "ReGen" does, it burns the soot out of the DPF. Here's a basic article about it, and reading it, sounds like you need to do a manual ReGen or have the filter professionally serviced.

And here's an older post from this forum about it...

Has dpf filter been cleaned? They clog up with ash after cooking all the soot so they need to be taken out and washed out. Some guys literally wash them out at home

A lender is asking for a ReGen reading on the truck I want to purchase. How hard is that to get done, how expensive is it usually, and what will it tell us?
