If it has a UN number, it's hazmat. Your broker is lying.
Jay5GS, RockinChair, MACK E-6 and 3 others Thank this. -
Thanks thats what I thought. Its got a UN NUMBER ITS 100 % Hazmat????
CruzControhl Thanks this. -
If your going from the battery company like Johnson controls and going to a place like Toyota then NOT HASMAT and no placards required.. I did it all the time.. also did forklift batteries.....
The bol need to say EXCEPT on itmp4694330, Rounded_nut and CruzControhl Thank this. -
What you need is an exemption letter...it is hazmat, but when packaged and loaded according to certain regulations placards are not required.
-
Do be cautious while driving...no hard braking or hard/sharp turns.
-
But can i loaded even if i am not hazmat certified or any hazmat permits?
CruzControhl Thanks this. -
If you get or have an exemption letter you Will be fine, still drive cautious.
If a hazmat endorsement or placards are required sometimes they ask if you have the endorsement. If placards are required dont take it without the endorsement. -
Thats a big 10-4.. thanks for the help and quick response.
CruzControhl Thanks this. -
I ended up calling my fmcsa office and i talk to an officer that told me that as long as the batteries are secure or strap down there exempt. If one battery becomes loose them it became hazmat.
Coffey, CruzControhl and flood Thank this.
