Dog attacked by alligator at Tampa park - FOX 13 Tampa Bay

There is a BMX track in this park that I race at weekly so I am very familiar with the park. There are signs EVERYWHERE to keep your pets on a leash and kids away from the 5 lakes. FWC is sending a trapper in to kill this gator now..... because the guy can't read a sign. Probably some dude from up North that doesn't know to stay the #### out of fresh water lakes in central Florida and didn't feel the need to read all the signs. If any of y'all decide to visit and or move here to Florida I got a tip for ya. If there is fresh water you should assume there is a gator in it no matter how small the body of water.

Terrible that the gator has to pay for that idiots lack of common sense. He should be cited for the dog being off leash and made to pay all costs involved with catching the gator. And the gator could be relocated instead of killed.

I agree but unfortunately in Hillsborough county Gators that bite get killed even if it's not their fault. I feel bad for the dog too, it doesn't know any better. The guy should have to pay a lot for this but he won't. ..he's the victim here......

I think it should be the other way around start killing the humans that do stupid #### rather than the animals. Be alot less stupidity in the world if we took up that concept

Yeah, article says a trapper is being sent out to find the alligator.
He should hunt down the dog and dog owner instead, then strap them across the hood of his pickup truck and drive down main street blowing his horn.

I see the Gator in dollar value for the suitcase and steaks you can feed the waifs at the bike track tomorrow.

I understand there is a epoch generational increase in a mess of gators. Time to start making some dollars and feeding those who don't know better and use the suitcases to pack off the ones who are not with the program. Humans that is.

The new generation tattoos covering all the skin; that skin would make beautiful lamp shades.

I realize you are trying to be funny and it is in this context. I never thought of that. I'll leave it here. Thanks for the laugh. The way things are leaning, we might need some of us to shade the sun.

in many areas of this country, the state(s) have some sort of hunting season (known as culling) to cut down the population of say deer. here it is "sanctioned" by using state licensed hunters for this purpose only..

isn't there any sort of "hunting season" for gators?

would seem to me to make sense, to control thier population. even up to the point if not hunting, then at least raiding the nests for eggs?

The Deer Population Is Out Of Control, So Communities Are Culling
