I happily spend money on gloves. I prefer regular old fashioned leather gloves.

I was about to bust out laughing about a 300-mile P&D day being a big deal, but then I remembered you're in the NE. When I ran out of FLG, >500mi days were not unknown.

It is when you’re one out of at most TWO drivers out of a total of about 60 running out of this terminal who might come close to that.

I use the yellow leather gloves. I get the 3-pack from Costco for $19 and each pair lasts me about 8-12 months. They are super durable and slide off and on easily.

    jmz Thanks this.

I go the other route and buy gloves that aren't meant to last. Basic cotton nitrile dipped gloves. Usually last me a few weeks per pair and I'm in food service, much harder on gloves than cranking gear and pushing dollies around.

Plus if you manage to get a big glob of fifth wheel grease or something on them you just toss them.

    jmz Thanks this.

Finishing up my run today having to go over Loveland pass cause of hazmat. Got stuck in a 4th of July Skiing madness traffic. Yup their skiing on snow in shorts and a T-shirts on July 4th. Lost an hour of my life and shortened my day off today. Gotta run tomorrow night. No 4 day weekend here.

Leather gloves turned inside-out. Makes them smoother on the inside, more grippy on the outside, easier to throw off if something nasty gets on them, and They'll absorb a dipstick check here and there. They will go up in size a bit and obviously one does this with new ones. If you feel the Harbor Freight ones before buying you can find the nicer leather and still pay a few bucks for 3 months worth of glove

if you dont mind spending some money i would recommend Gloves i rock the leather fingerless gloves for 10 hours a day. now if your the only person who operates the truck everyday get the full coverage, we share trucks and the steering wheel is always covered in grease
