I've done it a few times. There's a few switchbacks so tight you'll need both lanes to avoid scraping your trailer.
It would be best to do it at night so you can see oncoming headlights. Daytime would be unsafe since you won't see oncoming traffic until it's too late.
With computer logs, I wouldn't waste the time unless you have time to waste.
It was a loose leaf log adventure for me.
I wouldn't do it nowadays. -
Run it at night, take your time and take both lanes.

I ran it for years, no "jakes", no power steering. Driving for Hennis out of Portsmouth, Va we got on 60 in Richmond, ran it all the way to Charleston, WV and then with Morton Frozen Foods out of Crozet, Va. I would recommend you run 19 down to Beckley and then pick up 64. Now remember Sandstone on 64 going east. You heavy you say, I assume you have good "jakes", if not just take your good time going off Sandstone.
