No. The job is done right or it not done at all. I’m not opposed to moving with minimal or zero securement on a load on site. I moved three truck load size crates yesterday a few hundred yards with no straps at all.

That all changes the minute you take that load on the road with the general public.

If that load was loaded correctly, tight together, his securement would be almost adequate. Me personally I would take the few extra minutes to throw a choker on each end. I’m a fan of being alive.

Seeing this, and given my level of paranoia. I would have made them push those together, or get them off.
I would also have done something about the bottoms.
They are hanging over on both sides of the trailer.

Id rather see them crossed and make an X out of the straps, so u got straps pulling both directions rather than just straight down. hauled many cars on stepdeck like that

I agree. The straps straight to the side like that are not doing much to control front to rear motion.

    I agree with Kyle,

A hard brake check at 30-40 could drive those bars right through the back of the cab. If those are 3" bars 50' long they weigh 1200 each. Y'all know how a punch die works.

It could add an hour. If I'm running multiple loads a short distance an hout each time is the difference between 4 loads a day and 2. That could easily be 500 or more dollars per day difference. Id drive a little more careful and not put myself in position to need to slam on the brakes. Now on a long run that hour spent fishing straps won't make a difference.
