Rutherford county is pretty big. Murfreesboro is the biggest city but many smaller ones. Obviously he was on a backroad.

It seems to me the shoulders in NC are much less forgiving than what I'm used to in PA/NJ/NY/MD/CT, no zipper strip and when you find that edge you get YANKED!

Still no matter how many times I write it up, nobody at Ryder will look at my alignment. My current rig has a vague spot in the steering where it will just randomly want to pull right. Drives me nuts but after 6 months since taking over this unit I'm just dealing with it. What's really weird is when you're on a highway two lane alongside someone and in the middle of an otherwise gentle left hand turn you feel like you need to steer AT the vehicle next to you. It's counterintuitive.

My mentor's truck was like that at Swift, too. Scared me ####less when the truck kept drifting right, towards the ditch, despite me giving it more and more left... until it lurched and went LEFT, and then I had a whole new problem

Bud A. and Lepton1 Thank this.

Laugh at the zipper strips if you want but they have saved my butt many a time. After 10 hours and driving at night you aren't always at your best. I'm thankful for them.

MGE Dawn and Bud A. Thank this.
