Do you guys just round it up to 1 mile even though it’s just about 7% of a mile? I’m talking about I-495 south of Washington DC, where VA and MD statelines meet (images below).

I’m starting to think that section (Woodrow Wilson Memorial Bridge) belongs to MD. Maybe just the body of water belongs to DC.

Is Washington DC miles included in Maryland?

    PE_T Thanks this.

Washington DC is non-IFTA, but still needs to be reported. DC is not part of Maryland nor any state.

1.4< stays at 1, 1.5> goes to 2. Round up or down
7th 10th of a mile will equal 1 mile. its over the 5 tenth of the mile.

    stillwurkin and PE_T Thank this.

I see what you’re saying, but my example is at the most 1/10th of a mile. I think I’m just going to round it to 1 mile.

Report it or not, I don’t think they would say much about it in a audit, unless you were traveling that route 10 times a day or something. Even if they did assess you for not reporting it, the penalty would probably be maybe $5.

Just 1 mile is pennies tax-wise.
