It's about time. Now if we could only convince Ohio, Michigan, California... to do the same. The split speed limits is one of the most dangerous rules on the road. I am always amazed at the lengths that 4 wheelers will go through to get around slower trucks in the right lane :biggrin_2554:
I also have a really tough time driving into California -- to go from driving 75 in NM and AR to 55 (or close to it) will put me to sleep real quick. I'm usually lucky to get to Barstow before I have to pull over and get some sleep.

It's already passed in Ohio, apparently starting July 1st it will be 65 for all vehicles on rural interstates only, not on 4 lane state/us highways...and it's been 60 for trucks in Michigan for a while, i go 65 and never been bothered....

Michigan was threatened with losing funding for having too large a split; 55 and 70 mph, I drove between 60 and 65 there on the one trip, didn't see any problems or extra enforcement.

Its about time! The last Gov had a son killed by a big truck so that is the reason why he always shot it down. Atleast that is the rumor I heard while running on a dedicated account in Il.

Yes, that is great news and will save lives I am sure. I KNOW how hard it is to run 55mph in that boring state, lol. Talk about falling asleep!

As I'm sure you already know, you can't believe everything you hear on the CB, driver.

    Blagojevich never had a son.

He was just part of the Chicago political machine that has never liked the trucking industry or any other working class industry for that matter.

Californa will never do it. To many tree hugers and associated types.
I run 60 thru there, never have had a problem, even get passed by smokey, who doesn't bat an eye.

Mi. it's alright, the other state that needs to wake up is Oregon.
But they make to much money to get rid of that.

i believe the governor of ohio is the one that had the kid or some family member killed in a wreck with a truck. that is why he never wanted to see us go any faster.
