I have had my authority 9 months and I am looking to get set up with a buyer. I know a lot of people like to buy an Mc with at least a year so I wouldn’t mind waiting until that point but would like to get it set up now because I don’t plan on making another insurance down payment. I am established with 50-100 brokers and have a direct customer in a key northeast location. Totally clean csa score. I am willing to work with buyer until they are acclimated with the transition.
I have been running a flatbed hotshot rig grossing 4000 weekly. The hotshot rig could also be included in the sale if desired for a discounted price. It has 67k miles. If you wish to operate any other type of equipment I get daily emails for dedicated lanes. With a van or 48-53 flat you could eliminate the hassle with brokers and go straight to running a dedicated lane.
General info
The benefits of buying an Mc number in active status are as listed:
-The majority of brokers require 6 months of active Mc status to work with you
-Insurance premiums drop after first year as the status of new venture business is dropped
-You will experience less attention from the dot and more opportunities to prepass weight stations
These conditions don’t apply to Mc numbers that are older but have dropped active status. It’s like starting all over with a brand new company. Please beware of these sellers because some of their postings are misleading.
I am selling the company because I have decided to step away from OTR trucking and use my cdl to obtain a local driving job.

I think I’m in the wrong business. I’m gonna start buying (Filing) MC Numbers, let them mature a little bit and sell sell sell......
Roger McG, D.Tibbitt and Intothesunset Thank this. -
Think about it guys in the beginning you have startup expenses and a insurance down payment to make. Then for the first 3 months it’s hard to find loads and you have to work with garbage brokers. You’ll spend 8 grand in the first 3 months on insurance alone and won’t be able to get decent rates on loads. I would have paid 8 grand for an active Mc if I was smart enough to look around.
You guys are some professional hecklers.Last edited: Jul 11, 2019

9 month old Mc for 9 grand? More power to you.
Also you can’t activate an MC without insurance and no insurance without a rig. So you’ll pay 20K a year to sell Mc for 9k better business model then trucking with the state of the current market.Last edited: Jul 11, 2019
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Most parts of the market suck right now I agree. But running my hotshot in the right area I can gross $4000 a week running between 1500-2000 miles. That’s pretty dang good money considering the lower expenses of a hotshot vs semi rig.

He already reduced the price by $1000.00.

For real but it when the number is 1 year old. And go make money. Older numbers are selling for crazy money.
