Hello guys, i need help. i picked up reefer load from CA to GA. On the way to GA my truck broke down on Saturday night, it was big issue. and it didn't fixed still Monday early evening. but i had the delivery on Sunday morning at Walmart, Brokers knew that truck has been broke down.
I got to the delivery location Monday late night. Brokers had me chick in at 2am on Tuesday. They did not let me in because i did not have appt and they said I'm 3 days late. Basically the product was reject because i was 3 days late. I talked to broker about it in the morning, they had me bring back the load to the pick up location. i delivered back with no product issue.
NOW the broker is only paying me to bring it back the load BUT they are not paying for to take it CA to GA.
what should i do if someone can help?

Was it a reefer load? Such as meat or produce, or dairy?

When was your original apountment? You were 3 days late with oranges to Walmart your product was refused for back date purposes?
Now you need to find a wholesale fruit distributor.
What was your breakdown?
Did you have a temp recorder with wireless data?
You probably should have repowered that load. -
You need to find a wholesaler who will essentially throw away that whole load at a loss. But if he can get it sold, he might bet some money buying your refused load.
The worst of this is you get to baby sit that reefer until it's unloaded into a place that can sell these things and be on your way.
Worse case scenario if no one will take it, then you get to learn how to get a big rig up a landfill and dump it there for a cost that is into 4 figures. Payable to the landfill. We did that twice with FFE. First time it cost 1200, second time around 1500. Broker paid it.D.Tibbitt, KB3MMX and Intothesunset Thank this. -
@x1Heavy he already delivered back to shipper.

And so it was done.
However mysteries like that drive me up the wall.
Again thank you for the reminding. I appreciate that.D.Tibbitt, 25(2)+2, Intothesunset and 1 other person Thank this.
