Just got my CDL-A. I have no experience so am looking for someone with experience and can train me and team with me. I live in Las Vegas so preferably someone that lives close. Now don't let my looks deceive you, I got into this because I usually drive (turn around same day) Vegas to LA or Phoenix everyday for the job I got laid off from so trucking seemed a smart way to go since I like driving. I have no restrictions on my license , can drive manual or automatic. I also have my doubles and tanker endorsements.

SOUTHWEST TRUCK DRIVING SCHOOLLoneRanger and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
Sit down with a pen and paper, and seriously write down your reasons for why you want to run with someone else.
Then the negatives of someone else being in your space 24 hours a day, who wants stops, stinks, makes noise etc.
Then reevaluate your position on running as a team.
All the benefits of trucking, like getting time alone, and stopping where you want to, are gone.
If you still do for some reason, then go for it.
Want some company along for the ride, get a dog.Kitkat13 Thanks this. -
I’m based in vegas reason I’m asking, I’m surprised the school didn’t get you into a company. Are they able?
@Chinatown any advice on companies here in Vegas? -
They said they offer job placement but no one came in to speak during the class. My recruiter didn't give me any information either. I do know the trainers were helping people from prior classes by giving them some company names, but all the local companies my trainer advised of require a minimum of 3 months on the road.
MartinFromBC Thanks this. -
I would suggest you contact them to get contact info of companies in Vegas. Because it’s going to be hard to find an owner operator willing to train you and have them give you control of their rig.
On top of that your going to get some nasty and I mean nasty owner ops contacting you.MartinFromBC, Aamcotrans and Kitkat13 Thank this. -
Diesel Dave, LoneRanger, MartinFromBC and 1 other person Thank this.
