Wow! Was thinking hard about cre before finding this site and following a few threads. I live about 20 mins from bh and figured that was a plus. Gonna rethink that assumption.

if the lease that a person is not bad payment and maintance cost are reasonably low then why upgrade to a new truck
-
emton any company is bad butyou have to know what you are you looking for

Well, the consensus seems to be that cre's training program is good. I'm thinking, since it is local for me, I'll give it a shot and get out a soon as the getting's good. I can afford a year of just paying the bills to get some experience and learn the industry a bit. They (cre) say they'll knock a grand off the tuition if you pay up front. Worried about getting that back if the unexpected occurs, but I don't want to be indebted either.
Sound reasonable? -
it is just with anything get that it writingto cover your ##### to be safe suggestion dont lease it does sound good even great at first but after carefull consideration in my eyes i didnt go that way

run run run run

sxty9GTO. Remember "The Bridge Street Grill"? I'm still running from that joint.

Seriously, their training is much better than what my wife got after a $4500 school in PA...and you can run like heck once the first 3-4 months is over.
And....DO NOT LEASE!
We just got a qualcomm message today, by the way, saying that ALL company drivers WILL team by June 18th or else. They used to have a clause where if you had a year or more of experience, you could drive solo as a company driver - that goes away next month.
In the past year, they've gone to a policy where all new drivers, until they have a year under their belt, have to team. Now it's ALL company drivers.
The funny side is...if you lease a truck, you can drive by yourself. IF YOU LEASE.
But don't lease. -
Now hey are forcing all cmopany drivers to team. That is just wrong! Guess I am just going to have to bite the bullet and hang as long as I can until I can get in a company that will let me run solo.
-
Many companies will let you run solo, even after only 3-6 months of experience. It's just a matter of whether these other companies are hiring or not.
Central, SRT, Stevens, etc are all solo-based companies. Also, outside of reefer work, there's TMC, Melton, Heartland and many more.
