I couldnt have said it better. It's a lot of drivers on TTR that fill these guys heads with local gigs that pay big bucks. I've said it many times. The most surefire way to make money in trucking is to get out on the road and stay out at minimum 3 weeks. Big bucks requires sacrifice.

The only reason I check the bad jobs page is to see what you, @Frank Speak , and @thelushlarry have to say lol.

That’s why I pull tanks. Five days a week and more money than I ever made pulling a van or reefer. I still cringe to this day whenever I pass a WM DC or a food service warehouse. Better you than me catering to those people.....

According to a red neck friend of mine, the big bucks require hanging out in a tree stand and being verwee, verwee, quiet!

Did the 5/2 with Knight, grossed around $900 a week, netted in the $700 a week range. I knew what I was getting into, and had no problems to speak of. Left Knight a while back to see what retirement feels like. HATE IT. My wife and I still work, we live comfortably .

Trust me, I wouldn't be driving local if I was making $500 or even a $1000 a week.
Sorry your local market is weak, but even a crappy outfit around here pays $1000 a week.
I make $1375 per week on a 5 day schd. + No E-logs, No scaling loads, No DOT insp, No waiting to fuel, No worries about detention or layover, No waiting for truck repairs or losing money on weather & traffic delays.
The only things I miss about OTR is the perdiem deduction & Pilot coffee.

Seems like location plays a big role in local pay, hell cost of living is a big role in what you need to make.

bigblue19, bryan21384 and FlaSwampRat Thank this.
