Today I made a 30 mile out of route goof.
East bound on 70 to Eisenhower tunnelb 215mm I went into the brake check and could not get back into traffic. So I went behind the entrance and circled to the west bound side all the way to 198mm.
Here's the kicker I did not even realize I was going west until I about took the exit.
I was up at 2am but this was about 1pm central.
FYI. It's crazy traffic on that area right now some kind of biking stuff, and more going on. Traffic was backed up for miles going west out of Denver in the mountain.

We've all done something like that...Parked at night, got up the next morning and got on the highway going the wrong way. Didn't even notice the mile markers were going the wrong way...crossed Cat Head Creek. The name is kind of memorable, and remembered that I crossed it last night...didn't lose too many miles. We've all done it

I guess I shocked myself not knowing I turned around. It was weird feeling.
It takes quite a bit to shock myself.

30 miles, not too bad. My ####### missed the sinking spring exit on the PA turnpike once, next exit.... Harrisburg. It was like 125 miles round trip. Itwas pretty bad, thankfully I wasn't short on time but I felt pretty stupid trying to explain myself to my wife as she's at the track setting up wondering where I was.

I've done the wrong way after a short night, but at the top of that grade and knowing the tunnel was there? You were really out of it!

At least you're not the guy that realizes it and panics, then tries to do a flip across the median.

I need to go through Kansas to Indiana.
I was going east correct route. But at brake check I could not re enter east lane do to jerk traffic.
My thinking on the fly was I was going onto US 6. But I was incorrect. Both ends of tunnels have a U turn on top.

RoadRooster, FlaSwampRat and DTP Thank this.
