I have three offers and can't decide because they all seem so similar. Beer truck, McLane, and Coke. I have been scouring old threads and McLane sounds like a good company. Pay from highest to lowest is McLane, coke, beer truck. Hardest work would be all of them lol. From what I can tell best equipment from highest to lowest is beer truck, McLane, coke. Coke pays pretty good but most of the trucks look ratty as hell. McLane looks like they have some nice trucks and the beer place has a brand new fleet. The hours for all of them is early in the morning till whenever you get done which sounds like long days. That doesn't really bother me because it will be just like UPS. McLane and coke have really good benefits and the beer company isn't terrible but nothing to write home about. I know with all three jobs I'm gonna have to jam the truck into places it doesn't want to go and I'll be driving a hand truck more than the actual truck it's self lol. This is tough just because all three jobs are so similar. Sorry for the endless babbling, maybe someone has some insight that could push me one way or another. Oh forgot to add, I let my CDL go because I thought I wouldn't use it anymore and these companies will take me on a permit so that is something they all have going for them because I don't have to go to a school, I can just re train with them.

Coke is like 10 minutes, McLane is like 25, and beer truck is like 40. That is a big plus for Coke. It's just that the trucks are soooooo beat lol. I haven't driven one but they didn't get looking the way they do by being taken care of lol. I'm no stranger to old equipment, I didn't even get power steering at ups until 2012 but ####. Those coke trucks are old internationals and look they the have been to hell, jack knifed and rolled over there and then came back lol.

I worked for Pepsi for two years. Older trucks, bare bones, no a/c. Truthfully you don’t spend enough time driving that a nice truck would not make much of a difference. The majority of your day will be outside the cab.

Id go to Coke because it’s close.

I hadn't thought about that but it makes perfect sense. You spend the majority of the day unloading the truck not driving it so that makes the shiney new Kenworth a little less important.

Not sure where you are but I worked for coke in Sylmar .ca between 2000-2011.
24 an hour. Benefits were good
    Union .
They got rid of the sudeloader and went to 35 foot endloaders with liftgates.
Stops were put onto pallets and if stop was 20 prices or less it was put into a cart in from of trailer.
Liked that better than the baydoors since you can use the pallet jack and get close to store door b4 using handtruck.
15 to 20 stops up to 700 cases a day. Stops were pretty close together.

McLane has quite a few team drivers. I'm sure it depends on the route/area.

I'd go with Coke just because I know a guy who has been with them for years and it's been a good job for him.

I miss that delivery work. Sure made a guy feel better about himself at the end of the day than sitting in a truck all day munching 720 calorie iced honey buns watching my gut grow.

I think I would like the delivery work. I drove a package car for ups for 15 years and loved it. I always looked at the beverage guys with a little bit of envy. They were doing the same job I was except they got to play with big boy trucks. Lol
