I think that all truck owners should change their oil whenever they please.

My old rule of thumb, was to change oil when it burned a gallon.12 k on my old Cat, 15 k on Detroit, now I go 20 k on my old 12.7, it’s been leaking/ using 3 gallons. So I’ve been pushing further, with the fresh oil added. After I OH, and fix leaks, I’ll go back to 15 k. Detroit’s original requirement on an old 12.7 old dirty broken down oil burns faster. That tells it all.

Not wanting to debate and yes I'm sure I could stretch my drains out more but 17 to 20k drains on my freshly Inframed isx make me sleep better at night .
This is my last truck until I retire so it gets very babyed.

Honestly, what @Ridgeline said might be helpful to you. You might be able to stretch out your intervals as well as keeping an eye on your engine.
Its like your dad swearing by 3000 or 3 months on the oil in his car. That might have made a lot of sense 40 years ago, but today it's just throwing money in a hole and setting it on fire.

I might start doing the same.

I would change it at 20k and send a sample in to Blackstone. If they say it's fine I'd go 25k next time.

I only send in the oil every 5th oil change on each truck for testing. But even at 40,000 kms which is around 25,000 miles give or take, it comes back fine, and my trucks do a lot of logging roads, and heavy haul to.

I understand what you are saying and thanks ..I'm not changing .
If this was a truck I was only going to keep 4 or 5 years I'd run 30k drains also .
But this is my last one and I'll run it till the wheels fall off or I can't pass a physical anymore .

Oil change intervals. Right up there with who makes the best truck, which brand of beer tastes best. There is no firm answer. Every operation is different. Plan accordingly.

How does he not spill oil taking the cap off, and putting the drain plug hose on? Must have a shut off switch the video doesnt show. Also I think I'd use the proper size closed end wrench. Instead of the channel locks he calls pliers. Yo snug up the cap.
