You would be shocked how many drivers have lost duals and never knew where, it happens all the time. They will travel a couple of miles at times too, I have taken airplanes to find them before. I had one driver mad as hell because the scale house shut him down when he pulled in without a set on his DRIVES. we went looking for them, he didn't know for sure where he lost them and he had to hit his interlock to keep going. lol

Less rolling resistance that way.
FlaSwampRat, 86scotty, tommymonza and 2 others Thank this. -
Are they still using Daytons on those chassis's?
You'd think they all be unimounts by now. -
Pfft, he's still got 16 other tires under to deliver that load! lol
tommymonza, Lepton1 and MartinFromBC Thank this. -
A lot of them still use daytons. There is some kind of loophole that shipping lines have, where they can have new chassis built and use the old running gear, and title the new trailer with the old trailer. This keeps them from having to upgrade to abs brakes amoung other perks.
Bud A. Thanks this. -

That will have been a hell of a post trip.

I don't think those were Daytons, they look like Budds @.20, besides rail chassis used to run 10-20 tubes, but many have switched to Budds, especially the big fleets with their own chassis'. I don't recall any 22.5" tubeless Daytons. What is that, the brake drum @.16? Good thing that retaining wall was there, those tires went, what, a 1/4 mile still going 60mph? Could have easily gone through the median into a windshield.
lovesthedrive, mjd4277 and Lonesome Thank this. -
The inside dual was winning the race. Wonder if it kept the lead for the win.
Cattleman84, lovesthedrive, Lepton1 and 2 others Thank this.
