Man there is nothing worse than doing some work outside or walking in to take a shower and come back to a hot truck. I know, when im out securing freight my truck idling. When i go take a shower my truck idling. Go into take a dump my truck idling. I still lock the doors. If somebody wants to get into it they will whether its idling or not.

Is it just a regular old shaped key? If so, why not just go to a regular old key maker. Have them cut one from it so you can lock the doors while it's running..
My truck came with one key. Got 2 copies made for $4 bucks total..spindrift, jammer910Z and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I hope you get him a buddy so he's not an only kitty.

When I slept in the truck I NEVER shut it off. Even when I left it in the yard I’d idle it in the winter because it was just easier and I worked for a fuel company...FlaSwampRat, buddyd157, Numb and 1 other person Thank this. -

Do you only have one key for the truck??? If you have more than one key, leave the truck idling and lock the doors... If someone really want to steal a truck it wont matter if you are in it or not... Just increases the charges they get when caught.
There are 4 keys in existence for my truck...
#1 NEVER comes out of the ignition as company policy.
#2 is ALWAYS on my belt.
#3 is the shop copy
#4 is the office copy.tinytim, FlaSwampRat, TripleSix and 1 other person Thank this. -
