while i can agree with what you say, it's inevetiable that more can and WILL happen to the CDL holders.

do not forget, that as a whole, CDL drivers are out numbered by people with a regular drivers license, therefor a LARGER lobby to work against the CDL holders. by the very nature of any CDL holder, no one stands up for the rights of a CDL holder, cuz no one has the time to do so.

it takes money to lobby any segment of government, the ordinary drivers have funding to support lobbists, where as the CDL holder gripes aboput the price of a shower, cup of coffee or the boofey table..

what luck doe the CDL holders of THIS country have, against a powerful lobby..??

    i'd say nil to zero.....

since many "talk the talk".......but don't EVER walk the walk....."let someone else do it, i ain't got the time", is what is said, over and over.....

I figured this was coming...Why does it always seem to take a tragedy to get done what should've been done all along, remember 9/11? Hope they share the suspension data with the DOT & other States for when these scoffers get stopped/checked. Like I previously said, there's enough laws on the books now, just start enforcing them....

yeah, the news did not report, nor did the MA RMV report on what licenses were suspened....CDL/operator's, etc, just that actually on the news a few minutes ago, it is up to 1,600 now...!!!

i'll just bet too that everyone that gets that notice in the mail, will be surprised as all heck. i'd have to wonder if the lawyers involved will fight the state of MA, saying that the suspensions are now illegal as so much time has passed, and the people were not offered "due process" in a timely way.....

i think many will be watching the outcome of all this marlarky

Yeah, I noticed that too. I think you're right about the other also. Right now, New Yuck is trying to change the law regarding scoffers so that they won't be arrested and hauled in when stopped for driving with a suspended license, as it causes the operator "too much of an inconvenience" over a "minor charge". I wonder if the victims families feel the same way. Plus, New Yuck just passed law and will be issuing D/L's to undocumented aliens......

New York may end suspending driver's licenses over traffic tickets

well you know, after x amount of time, the city "boots" the front tire of a car that the owner racks up numerous parking tickets.

too many people think that they are above the laws/codes of "NO PARKING", or "TIME LIMITED" parking. they DESERVE that ticket.

years ago, (i know this for a fact) i had worked a part time job, and my work hours were from 3 AM till 7 AM....

I HAD to park in the street, the cops EVEN KNEW ME, cuz they would see me working inside, but I STILL GOT *back then* a $14.00 parking ticket!!

i paid them, as i got them......

but the cop(s) told me, if thier supervisor drives by and DOES NOT SEE a ticket, THEY will get reamed out....

parking tickets these days top about "$100" each now...

so add up the x number of tickets, and the booting fee's, wouldn't it be best to OBEY the parking signs?

i personally DO NOT WANT, undocumented people to get a driver's license...

they WILL NOT HAVE the mandatory insurance, how can any moron in the law making end of this think that these undocumented people will follow the mandatory insurance law..?????

can you say..."my insurance will spike now"...??????

I had to stop and pay my respects on my way back home today.

Here's a look both ways down the 50mph road.

Thats a sad but beautiful memorial. From the pic it looks like many people stop by to pay respect. I thought I heard on the news that a bunch of local motorcycle vets were either going to raise money for the families but I can't find the story now.

I'll be going by that spot next week, and will certainly plan some extra time to also stop and pay respect. This hole fiasco is just so horrible and sad at the same time, and I hope all of the guilty parties involved are held fully accountable under the law.

As for the GoFundMe campaign to assist the families involved, here's one interesting story that was in the news: Patriots Owner Robert Kraft Donates $100K to Families of NH Motorcycle Crash Victims
